Sonja E. Blomquist was born in St. Charles, Illinois, and was admitted to the California Bar in 1981 and the Colorado Bar in 1982. Graduation from the University of Colorado included a Phi Beta Kappa key. The University of California's Hastings College of the Law led Ms. Blomquist to a litigation career after working for the California Supreme Court as an extern, the Attorney General's office, and the University of California Attorney General's office. After a one year clerkship with Judge Aurel Kelly on the Colorado Court of Appeals, Ms. Blomquist joined Low, Ball & Lynch in 1982.

In the early 1980s, Ms. Blomquist gained trial experience in personal injury litigation and represented contractor and developer clients in construction defect litigation. She has specialized in environmental litigation since the mid-1980s, handling asbestos, lead paint, Proposition 65, and other toxic tort claims and managing the Environmental Team at Low, Ball & Lynch.

Sunnie's travels include Africa, Asia, Europe, Scandinavia, and Central and South American but the Wild West of North America is her favorite site for exploration. Nunavut anyone?
